Start with the tree model
Find the label, order record or assembly leaflet for your artificial tree. A replacement from the tree manufacturer is the clearest starting point because superficially similar poles may use different fittings. Ask the retailer to confirm compatibility if the listing does not identify your model.
Measure the lower pole
Measure the outside diameter of the part that enters the stand. Record its shape and whether the original used a screw, pin or dedicated locking fitting. Do not assume that a listing described as universal will fit every pole or carry every tree.
Check the whole specification
Look for supported tree heights, any stated load limit and the stand footprint when fully open. The stand must be able to open completely in your chosen spot. A narrow collar should never be used to squeeze the feet into a smaller space.
Keep decorations out of the mechanism
Assemble and check the tree before hiding the base. Keep electrical connections, retaining screws and hinges accessible. If the pole or stand is damaged, do not improvise a structural repair with a cover or packing material. Seek a compatible replacement and follow the supplier’s instructions.
